Residents and guests at Garza Blanca Signature Residences will be proud to hear about the latest certification of Garza Blanca’s idyllic white sandy beach. Once again the beach has received official recognition for its cleanliness and conditions from the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification (IMNC), a governmental body that classifies the beaches in Mexico’s touristic areas.
In an awards ceremony at Garza Blanca on Wednesday October 9, 2013, official certification was presented to Signature Residences Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Javier Garcia in the presence of Puerto Vallarta’s Mayor, Ramón Guerrero Martínez, Environment and Ecology Minister, Luis Fernando González Guevara, Minister for Tourism, José Ludwig Estrada Virgen, IMNC’s Commercial Manager, Elizabeth Schulz Zapata.
The certification is based on the compliance of the beach with a number of specific standards such as cleanliness (no evidence of glass, polystyrene, plastic, supermarket bags, cigarette butts etc), health risks, environmental impact and levels of bacteria in the seawater. Officials that regulate the beaches arrive periodically to check the standard of the beach. Beaches that receive the certification must also have on display the results of water samples so that visitors can see the levels of bacteria and all the vegetation should be indigenous to the area. No fishing is allowed on these beaches.
Garza Blanca also received a second certificate to celebrate the efforts of the staff who took an active role in reaching the high standards of the norm: NMX-AA-120-SCFI-2006. A biologist gave staff training to teach the team about the impact of garbage and pollution on the local environment. Garza Blanca’s Maintenance Manager, Ing. Javier Contreras received the certificate on behalf of all the staff who were (and continue to be) involved in the clean beach project.
Garza Blanca Residence Club members now have the added confidence of knowing that Garza Blanca’s beach is not only incredibly beautiful but also spotlessly clean.
