One of Puerto Vallarta’s top gourmet restaurants at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa received the coveted International Star Diamond Award granted by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS). Blanca Blue Restaurant at Garza Blanca Residence Club received a plaque garnered by AAHS in a private ceremony held in the restaurant last week.
The award for 2013 will mark the second year that Blanca Blue restaurant have met the strict criteria for excellence stipulated by AAHS and marks the restaurant’s continued efforts to maintain the high standards for which it is acclaimed.
Earning the International Star Diamond Award is no easy feat, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences founded in 1949 is overseen by a group of renowned independent trustees who ensure that its team of reviewers formed from world travelers and hospitality professionals make impartial decisions based on quality and the level of services provided. The Academy evaluate all different types of establishments related to hospitality, like airlines, hotels and restaurants.
AAHS representatives arrive anonymously to restaurants and hotels at which point they evaluate many aspects of the services provided such as cleanliness, quality of the food, atmosphere and hospitality. But it is not enough to just fit these criteria once, to earn the International Star Diamond Award an establishment needs to show consistent dedication to the criteria valued by the Academy.
The International Star Diamond Award plaque was received by Blanca Blue’s chef Fernando Pulido and Garza Blanca’s resident manager, Enrico Pinzano and is on display in the wine cellar at the restaurant.
