Golfer Tips: 5 Must Play PV Courses

Number One – Nuevo Vallarta – Nayar Course

The Nayar Course in Nuevo Vallarta is one of the most challenging and dramatic golf courses in the area. Approximately ten minutes from the Puerto Vallarta Airport is where the Nayar Course is located. This is a new golf course and Greg Norman design. This is actually the only golf course that has a suspension bridge with a one lane golf cart lane that passes above the beautiful Ameca River. The Nayar Course is an 18-hole course and a par 70 course that is very fun for players of all skill levels. There is nearly 50 challenging bunkers and 7 lakes that golfers that are more experienced will truly enjoy. To get the current tee times and the rates for the Nayar Course, you will need to call them personally.

Number Two – Punta Mita – Litibu Golf Club

Some of the golf courses and clubs in the Puerto Vallarta area can be expensive, but the Litibu Golf Club only charges $100 green fee, which is very affordable for the Puerto Vallarta region. The Litibu Golf Club is actually a Greg Norman design that has a jungle layout and ocean views. One of the best features of this golf course is the low green fee. This golf course is not only affordable, but it is also an exciting course to play a golf at, too.

Number 3 – Punta Mita – Pacifico Golf Course

The Pacifico Golf Course located in Punta Mita is one of the Jack Nicklaus golf courses in the area. This golf course provides 19 holes, and 8 of the holes face the Pacific Ocean, which provide each golfer with an amazing view. The inland holes provide golfers magical views of the lush greenery of the Sierra Madre Mountains. If you enjoy adventure, then you will definitely enjoy playing golf at this course as there is an actual green that is set in the middle of the ocean. You will have to carry at least a minimum of 170 yards. This unique hole has become famous and is named the Tale of the Whale 3rd hole. You can only access this hole by boat, and if the tides and currents are rough, then golfers will have to play on the landlocked 3rd hole. Near the 17th and 18th holes that are across from the Bahia Golf Course in Punta Mita, you will see the popular surf break El Faro. Is this golf course expensive? The green fees begin at $175 during low season.

Number Four – Puerto Vallarta – Marina Vallarta Golf Club

The Marina Vallarta Golf Club is located in the Puerto Vallarta marina area. The Marina Vallarta Golf Course was designed by the famous and well-known American architect Joe Finger. It has 18-holes and comes with a tropical atmosphere and breathtaking views of the Sierra Madre Mountains, and the Banderas Bay marina. The International Pro AM is held at this golf club every December. The International Pro Am is actually the largest golf tournaments that held in the world. Are you a nature and animal lover? If so, you will love this golf course as the crocodile sanctuary is just upriver a bit from the golf course and you may just see a crocodile when you are playing at this course. As a result, you should also be extra cautious around all of the water holes.

Number Five – Vista Vallarta – Weiskopf Course

The luscious greenery that Puerto Vallarta is known for surrounds the Weiskopf Course. This golf course was opened in 2001, and it has a variety of mixed terrain including ravines and swift creeks. You will appreciate the greenery that offers shade as you can briefly escape the Puerto Vallarta heat. On the same property is the Nicklaus Course and the Weiskopf Course has a similar layout, too. This course has a more exciting design and the price is only $111 for each golfer during tee times that start after 3:00pm.
