If you’re taking a Mexican vacation this year, or next year, then you should check out these great packing tips for Mexico. The stringency of weight limits is only increasing, so you’ll be glad of these tips – number 5 might even surprise you!
Hints and Tips for Packing for your Vacation to Mexico
1 – Choose a Complementary Color Scheme
Fashion doesn’t have to go out the window when you’re packing light; choose a color scheme to avoid bringing unnecessary clothes or shoes. Not only will your case be lighter, but you’ll find that you have more outfits to choose from overall! You can mix and match and have a different outfit every day!
2 – Pack Half a Suitcase
You should try to use only half of your weight allowance on your flight to Mexico so that, on your way home, you have room for all the wonderful things you bought while on vacation. Another of the great packing tips for Mexico is to invest in a carry-on suitcase, the largest one your airline will reasonably accept, and pack it into your suitcase so that on the way back you have a second suitcase, just in case you need it.
3 – Leave your towels at home
If you’re staying at a good resort or hotel, towels will be provided for you, so you needn’t bring them along. Save space and weight on large beach towels by bringing sarongs, or buying towels when you arrive and giving them to your maid when you leave.
4 – Bring a Tablet or iPad instead of books and magazines
Bibliophiles will know just how heavy books can get, so save space and weight by using a tablet to bring ebooks along. We know it’s not quite the same, but needs must!
5 – Use a Small Rucksack for Heavy Carry On
Your carry-on luggage can be a life saver; if you put most of your heavy items into a small rucksack then you can carry them onto the plane. Airlines are getting savvier these days, however, and will weigh bags that look very heavy so try to give the impression that it’s light as a feather. A little dose of acting, and some arm-ache, could save you excess weight charges!
