  • Poblano Peppers – For starters, poblano peppers are also known as Ancho chilies, and Ancho in Spanish means ‘wide’. The poblano peppers can grow to be very big, and it is a sweeter chili and has a mild heat. 
  • Jalapeño Peppers – Secondly, the most common pepper in the world is the jalapeño. This pepper is very versatile, and it is often used in different ways such as being smoked, pickled, roasted, or fresh. A chipotle pepper is actually a dried jalapeño pepper, did you know that? When the jalapeño pepper has been dried and becomes a chipotle, they can be spicy, sweet, or smoky in taste. The chipotle morita or chipotle Colorado is the most common jalapeño pepper that is dried. To make the tamale salsa, you will have to dry the guajillo peppers, then soak or simmer the peppers. The guajillo pepper is then mashed or pureed into a thick paste, then added with other fresh ingredients to make tamale salsa. 
  • Serrano Peppers – A spicy pepper that is very delicious is the serrano pepper. These peppers were first grown in the states of Puebla and Hidalgo mountainous regions. The serrano pepper is often used to make giardiniera or a variety of fresh and spicy salsas. 
  • Habanero Peppers – One of the spiciest peppers is the habanero pepper. Habaneros chili peppers that are unripe will have a green color, and the color will change as they start to mature. The colors can vary, and they can have a variety of colors such as red, orange, yellow, brown, white, green, and purple. A habanero pepper that is ripe is 2 to 6 centimeters in length. Habanero peppers are the top spiciest peppers in the entire world. 
  • Ghost Peppers – The ghost pepper is the hottest chili pepper in the world. The Guinness World Records certified in 2007 that the ghost pepper was the hottest pepper in the world. It is 416 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper.
